Volunteer Appreciation Picnic
Wednesday, August 10th      5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

We hope you will stop by to:

• Enjoy a picnic buffet provided by Bayview Catering
• Honor the 2022 Evan Ferber Peacemaker Leadership Award recipient Jose Gutierrez Jr. 
• Connect with fellow members of the DRC Family
• Participate in a Volunteer Appreciation Raffle

We will be making every effort to ensure the comfort and safety of all guests, staff, and volunteers participating in this event. Masking will be encouraged when undercover near the buffet, except when eating and drinking. Masks will be available as needed.

2022 Evan Ferber Peacemaker Leadership Award​

This year's EFPLA recipient is Jose Gutierrez Jr.  Jose was a young community activist and mediator who died as a result of complications from COVID-19 in November 2021. Similar to the DRC's approach to conflict resolution, Jose saw conflict not as a threat, but as an opportunity to deepen understanding and seek common ground. In his community activism, he applied his interests and skills in the arts and media - including as a hip-hop artist and DJ - to reach people of all walks of life.

Members of Jose's family will accept the award on his behalf.

Bayview Catering will be providing:

The DRC Board will additionally provide beverages, chips, and a dessert option.

Woodland Creek Community Park is just off Pacific Avenue between Carpenter Rd. SE and Kinwood St. SE. 

Accessible parking will be available in front of the shelter.
