Remembering our 2022 Evan Ferber Peacemaker Leadership Award recipient, Jose Gutierrez Jr.
Last year's EFPLA recipient is Jose Gutierrez Jr.  Jose was a young community activist and mediator who died as a result of complications from COVID-19 in November 2021. Similar to the DRC's approach to conflict resolution, Jose saw conflict not as a threat, but as an opportunity to deepen understanding and seek common ground. In his community activism, he applied his interests and skills in the arts and media - including as a hip-hop artist and DJ - to reach people of all walks of life.

This event is NOT a fundraiser- it's an opportunity for connection and celebration - and no formal fundraising request will be made during it.  However, whether or not you plan to attend, please consider making an investment in the DRC’s ongoing transformation with
a special financial contribution for 2023 in support of our
capacity-building efforts to enhance services, expand access and promote equity.
